Yes I believe you do. You also get a few platinum benefits because the card is on a platinum account.

I've had a gold card as an AU on a platinum account for a while. The CS reps didn't really know which benefits applied and which ones didn't.
IME for the benefits which you receive in person (lounge access etc.) you need to present your platinum card so you won't get them with the gold, however for the benefits that you can receive online or over the phone (National RAC status etc.) you don't have to have the platinum card as long as your card is on a platinum account.

They always swipe but it makes no difference.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I paid $450, Btw and in general maybe he upgraded a gold card for the year free plus the bonus upgrade offer.. and the $200 may seem worth it

What is the general consensus for keeping a platinum card after you get your points? I would like to churn it for bonus points, but should I keep it open for at least a year then close? Or should I do it right away so I can start the 12 month clock to reapply with a bonus? I didnt know if AMEX keeps a tab on people who open cards just for the bonus and cancel.

Thanks

I have the PRG as well. I got 100k plat. offer in January. I was going to cancel and wait for the 100k to come back, and hopefully, enough time has gone by that I can get the bonus.
