Heard a similar situation to this almost happened when a whole grade on a class trip got in on cancelled Plats+guests.

Came back as cancelled. Dont remember exact wording on the print out .

There is no printout when they swipe the actual AMEX Plat card.

I always was asked to sign a paper with a number of guests on it . Didn't you have to sign something?

Never allowed access to any lounge unless traveling Biz with boarding pass . Otherwise in 15 years always signed something. IME

IIRC It had always been swiped and something signed . Since I have not flown coach in over a year can't speak to anything more recent than that .

Actually I now remember in the past taking another person in , and being charged fir the second person

That would be PP, which typically doesn't work once the Plat is canceled.

do they have any limits
and is there any requirements to b met except showing a purchase receipt ??
and does it protect all kind of merchandise like silver jewlery etc

how can they offer such a service aren't they scared ppl will exploit this option to buy merchendise for free

I think the limit is $10,000
they can do this because they charge you $450 a year and most people are not criminals

i just read on some site tht they claim it to offset there gains on taxes so they dont end up losing the money

Downgrade to Blue Biz card , and they will be parked as non transferable MR ( not dure what they call them) that will become MR premium ( or the like) when linked to a regular MR card .

You can't downgrade a plat to a blue biz, IME. He has to apply for it.
