My guess is that he's talking about PP and not the Plat card itself.

And what happened when they tried swiping your expired AMEX Plat card?
Because I've heard hundreds of success stories and you are the first fail I've ever heard about.

Print out?
There is no printout when they swipe the actual AMEX Plat card.

I always was asked to sign a paper with a number of guests on it . Didn't you have to sign something?

Never allowed access to any lounge unless traveling Biz with boarding pass . Otherwise in 15 years always signed something. IME

Then as I suspected, you're not using your actual AMEX Plat card for access as there's nothing to ever be signed.

IIRC It had always been swiped and something signed . Since I have not flown coach in over a year can't speak to anything more recent than that .

Actually I now remember in the past taking another person in , and being charged fir the second person

That would be PP, which typically doesn't work once the Plat is canceled.

I think the limit is $10,000
they can do this because they charge you $450 a year and most people are not criminals

I have 71 K AMEX miles on a Platinum business card.  How can I keep them when I cancel the card to save the fee?  Thanks.

Downgrade to Blue Biz card , and they will be parked as non transferable MR ( not dure what they call them) that will become MR premium ( or the like) when linked to a regular MR card .

You can't downgrade a plat to a blue biz, IME. He has to apply for it.
