1 - So if I closed my Personal Plat in 8/12 then closed my MB Plat in 10/13, I can't apply for EITHER one until 10/14?

2 - If I spent $3k, and the points show online, but then the $200 Airline Credit kicked in, so my bill is $2,800 not 3k, will my points be clawed back?

Thanks!

#1 Correct

#2 Are the bonus points showing or the spending points ? If you got the bonus points IME they won't be clawed back

1 - :(

2 - The bonus points showed up immediately after I completed the spending (the spending points have not showed up yet). The $200 credit showed up a week later. So far, the bonus points are still there.

Is this the same card you closed  on 10/13?  The spend points (200 ) may be clawed back !

If this is same card I would think of  transferring  out to the partner you intend to use them on.

I don't understand your response. :(
It is the card I want to close later this week (10/13).
The spend points should be 3k not 200.
Why would they claw back the 3k that I earned legitimately through spending?
My original question was if the 50k bonus points would be clawed back since even though I legitimately spent 3k I then received $200 in airline credits via PGGM, bringing my bill to $2,800 and not $3000.
Thanks.

No the 50 K will not be clawed back. but I wouldn't close till they actually transfer into your account not just show in a statement.

Re second ? Oops. I forgot we are not at 10/13 yet so disregard my other comments

For a new Amex customer -  which 2 personal cards can they get in 2bm? (refering to the sign-up bonus)
From reading this thread, plat +Mb plat is a no go.

Is there any other combo besides for Starwood + plat/Mb plat/gold?

Thanx

target offer quandry
« Reply #2327 on: October 15, 2013, 11:17:07 PM »
Facts:
1) Applied via 3BM for SW Biz, Amex Gold and SW Personal in late August.  Got approved for the Amex Gold and the SW Biz but my SW Personal app froze in Chrome :(
2) I recently moved and the prior owner had a business out of his house.
3) I received a targeted Amex Plat Biz offer for 100k points for spending 10k in first 3 months (Easy with VRs) targeted for his biz that expires 11/30

Questions:
1) I presume its worthwhile to spend the 450 given that the 100k are worth more, please confirm (i know thats not a question)
2) Is there enough time in between my last pull and the target expiration to actually apply successfully?
3) Will I have a problem applying (just changing the business name to my business name in the app) using the target?
4) If I can apply, could I use the 3/4 bm? If so, what other cards should I apply for?

Thanks

1) The AF will be refunded if you cancel within 60 (CMIIW), or prorated after that.  There is also PGGM.
2) Depends on other factors in your credit history (what do you have prior to your 3BM?).  With HUCA, I do not see why not.
3) Do you have an offer code?  Use that code with your info.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but I do know that SW biz, Amex Gold, SW personal are not a 3bm. 3bms only work if all the cards are from the same bank. You have 2 Chase cards there and 1 Amex, so you got 1 credit pull from Chase and 1 from Amex.

Yes.

Though if he does not transfer the points out, he will not be able to unless he gets another "higher" card from Amex.

Been discussed many times here.

AFAIK, there are no fee-free charge cards.

AFAIK, there are no fee-free charge cards.

Was wondering the same thing. I have platinum now and waiting my credit from PGGM. Once that is done, what are my options?
If i downgrade to gold, I will be paying a 175 annual fee. (Spoke to rep and she said that if i downgrade i will still have to pay the 175 fee and i will not get it free even though its in my first year).

I dont want to close the card bec i have 150k points and dont plan on using them anytime soon.

What are my options?
