Was wondering the same thing. I have platinum now and waiting my credit from PGGM. Once that is done, what are my options?
If i downgrade to gold, I will be paying a 175 annual fee. (Spoke to rep and she said that if i downgrade i will still have to pay the 175 fee and i will not get it free even though its in my first year).

I dont want to close the card bec i have 150k points and dont plan on using them anytime soon.

What are my options?
Downgrade to green (IIRC 95).  When you are ready to use the points, upgrade again.  If you time it right, you may even get an upgrade offer.

You are right.
Additionally, the OP could apply for a fee-free credit card (Blue).  Once approved, the MR points will not be lost, but he could not transfer out without one of the charge cards.

Is Blue the bottom end replacement for Zync? I would have converted my SPG to Blue instead of Blue Cash if I had known it existed.
