If I downgrade to a card with no annual fee or $25 annual fee will it show up on my credit report?

I have some other card types with $75-$90 annual fees. I do not plan on using them ,just opened them for the bonus points and spent what is needed. If I close them will I hurt my credit report? Does it pay to just pay the annual fee to avoid it showing up on my report?

Thank you

Downgrading will not result in a cancelled account on your CR.

As for whether its worth it to pay an annual fee to keep an account open, there are just way too many answers and variations to give you a blanket response.

I've been told that cancelled cards still work even when they were swiped, does anyone know how long they'll continue to work? until the expiration printed on the card?

HEY!
ANYONE TRY USING A AMEX PLATINUM CARD THAT WAS CANCELED (NOT EXPIRED) TO GET INTO AA OR DELTA LOUNGE?
THANKS

My, this has been discussed ad nauseum.

A little off topic but can you get a free checked bag on Continental with an expired CO OnePass?

Ya think?

they ask for ID when u enter.

I've never been asked for ID. And, for that matter, most times I can get in without a boarding pass, too ;)

CO always checks IME.  US never checks.

As far as using AMEX plat for AA lounges, does it matter what kind of lounge it is? (ie arrivals, or other flagship lounges)

Amex Platinum

Saw this on FT.

50K link for Amex Platinum. Several users have confirmed that this has worked for them. (1 already received the 50k)

Make sure that you open the link in an incognito window, or clear your cache.

https://www304.americanexpress.com/personal-card-application/platinum-charge-card/29119-243-0/?BUID=CCG&PSKU=PLA&PID=1&EAID=PPkX79%2Fc*b0-UhbCC01fTmptondByG4QWA&newUI=false

The T&C state that it is for new Platinum members only, but this has yet to be confirmed.

What makes this an excellent offer (if you can get it) is the fact that you can get $400 in airline credit. $200 before January 2012, and then another $200 after Jan 1, 2012.
