i just downgraded my platinum to PRG even though i have a PRG already. they said i would get full $450 AF refund minus the $195 refund. how long do i have to cancel to get the $195 refunded?
its a great deal for me because i can double dip the $100 airline fee credit. :)

It is possible to have the card credit applied to a different account. But--"possible" doesn't mean "occurs frequently." You could call and ask, though.

anyone have any experience with this as i am getting two different facts from amex chat.

Yes you get full refund but you will pay for the gold card.

do you know for sure because the amex rep just told me that by card conversion(downgrading) the refund on platinum is prorated besides the $195 AF for the gold.
even though another rep told me on another account that i would get the full refund minus the AF for the gold. thats why I'm mixed up.
