Wondering regarding the value of having both sapphire reserve and the Amex platinum card. I am mostly interested in the travel benefits, possible getting better airline seats (business, economy plus) at more reasonable prices. I already get the 1.5% back from the sapphire reserve card and am wondering regarding getting the 35% back from the AE card. Not sure if this justifies the cost of the card.

– Is the AE web site for travel cheaper then on line elsewhere?
– If one doesn’t have the points to use and uses cash is there no refund?

I just called to downgrade card and was offered 25K MR points for 10K spend. If I downgrade immediately after points post is there a risk of points being clawed back? How much time do I need to wait before it is "safe"?

Thanks! 12 months from when the retention offer was made or when the points post?

Your card open date is very important.
if you accept a offer for the 2nd year you need to keep open the card until the 2nd year finishes. the 1st day in the 3rd year.
hope that is clear enough.

They sell Xbox GC, credit works for it.

Which can then be used for anything in the Microsoft store.

If I close the AU before it was charged, am I gonna end up paying it?
Definitely not. You can call to cancel after you're charged, and get a full refund. I have done it multiple times.
does this work for the personal plat as well? even if it was a few month's since they were upgraded?

assuming yes but just making sure?
instead of writing "+1" and clogging up the thread give a like!
