I opened a plat, and at the end of app when is said approved it asked if I want to add the card or setup as new, and added the card by putting in my username and password, but when I login now it shows the card but it does not mention anything about membership rewards all it says is explore open savings.

Perfectly normal. It takes a few days for the MR account/number to get generated.

So glad the code worked for you. I thought you said it doesn't work anymore.

in my offers, I got the biz plat 75k after 5k spend, with n mention of having the card befoer etc.
I had the biz plat last december-jan.
1. is the fact that they offer it to me without mention of having the card in the past, is that enough of a guarantee to get the points?
2. Should I apply now, or wait again to dec to double dip the 200 credits?

Dec 2014 Jan 2015 ? Read the T Cs well . Just because they offer it to you doesn't mean it doesn't violate the terms.
You may get the card and they will reneg on the bonus if you are not certain about the Terms .
Marketing knows nothing about enforcement , until bonus time comes IME .

I want to call up Amex and try getting a 100k/$3k signup deal on Personal Plat, like was mentioned in another thread. Any recommendations for things to maximize my chances? Like:

-A number to call specifically for the Personal Plat (like in another thread, someone mentioned that the number mentioned in the thread was specifically for Business Plat signup, which helped his getting a targeted offer he wanted [but hadn't received] when he called)

-Specific wording ("I saw a targetted offer for 100k/3k, I'd like to sign up. I don't have the code with me. I saw it a few weeks ago." etc.). Would like to be flexible with word choices, but avoid straight out lying

-Use the same business name as I have for my Chase IP, or use a new one

Also, assuming I get accepted, my primary purpose is paying 3k towards tuition.
-Should I call to pre-authorize the transaction since it would be a big spend on a newly opened card, and don't want security issues or triggering FR?
-If I complete the 3k quickly, and get the points at the close of the first month, and the AF hasn't posted yet, could I downgrade to a different card to decrease or avoid the AF? Or would they be pissed about that and have bad consequences?

Why not?
Re the last two questions, I would call for sure...generally won't help for fraud if it'll be triggered anyways but doesn't hurt, IMHO it wont help for FR either way.
IINM you have 60 days to get the fee back, no need to rush

I got an offer via email for the biz plat that doesn't seem to have any 12 month language in it. does this mean I'll get the bonus even if I just had the card? I applied in Dec and cancelled in Feb. TIA

Yes if it doesn't have the 12 month language then you should be able to get the bonus again.

Lol! Clicked on a link for consumer plat card (was going to try hidden browse opening a bunch to see if a good offer came up), and I noticed this great gem in the card description:

NO INTEREST CHARGES
No interest charges because you pay your balance in full each month.‡

because you pay your balance in full each month.

Lol. Way to let a person know to be cautious about the wording the company uses!  ;D

Another question: would doing this over the phone rule out the whole thing about MBM? I've never done MBM, so would have to look into it. But since I'm about to finish my 5k threshold on the Ink, and I either won't get this 100k/3k offer, or will clear it right away with my tuition, should I figure out an app-o-rama to do on the same day I apply for the plat? I could divert my 5k/month VGC->RC from my Ink to the new cards to meet the spend over the next few months.

Worth it, or two totally separate processes?

Even if 1 app is over phone and 1 app is online, if you apply for them on the same day, it has the same benefit as "MBM", that it will only be 1 pull.

+1 just keep in mind that with credit cards from amex you might hit issues with delaying you for 7 days try to stick to charge cards.
