Not sure if this is the best thread for this question, but hopefully someone can shed some light....

I recently applied for an Amex Biz Platinum card for ABC Business with my wife as the primary, and me as additional cardholder. I already have a Green Rewards Biz card for ABC Business with me as the primary and my wife as additional cardholder.  When we received the bonus points for the new  Biz Platinum card, I realized that Amex had set up a new Membership Rewards account associated with my wife, since she has no other open Amex MR cards.

Is there any way to get Amex to connect the new Biz Platinum card to the same MR account as the Biz Green Rewards account, even though I am the primary on the Biz Green Rewards account and my wife is the primary on the Biz Platinum account?  At this point, I would like to close the Biz Platinum acct and get our annual fees refunded, but I need to figure out a way to retain the MR pts in that account.

Thx

To my knowledge you cannot transfer or connect MR accounts between 2 different people.

You can however add the other as an AU and transfer the MR to their FF acct.

Either open a new MR earning card or downgrade the Platinum to Green which costs $95.

Thanks all for your responses. I already have a downgraded acct (Biz Green Rewards), so i think I'm probably going to apply for a more useful card, and just close the Platinum acct.

Not worth a pull for just 1 card.

Not worth a pull for just 1 card.
There's a bunch of increased bonuses now via incognito. All worth throwing in.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

If I close my  platinum card before the annual fee posts will I still get charged?
If I close it after I was charged will I be credited?

Yea i had asked her to double check for me but then I told her forget it because I figured whatever she said would be unreliable anyway.

So in order to get the card ( bonus  points ) without fee I can just cancel it within 60 days after the fee appeared on my account after the points posted already . Right ?

Had a biz plat in the past 12 months which i applied under sole proprietorship and now want to apply for another.
Can i use another tax i.d. which didnt have that card yet and still get the bonus?
