And if its been a week, do i call National or Amex?

Now I want to now how long after filling out the form I need to wait.
Oh. With Avis it was immediate. I did it when I got to the Avis rental counter.

i'm sure it was asked but i can't find it.-just got hit with the AF on my prg which also has an offer to upgrade to platinum  and get 25k MR. if i upgrade will i be able to get a platinum card with 75k or similar in the future, or this 25k would be considered getting a platinum bonus. TIA

Would be considered getting a Platinum and would disqualify you in the future due to the lifetime language.
