Not if the T&C that's written on the app says otherwise, read it once in a while

I got offered 25k to upgrade my PRG to Plat and spend $1 on it. I upgraded, did the spending  :D and the points posted to my account. They sent me a letter that my annual fee will be charged the last day of August ( I wonder why that special date....). Any reason for me not to downgrade now (as soon as the airline credit posts, of course)? Will Amex claw back the points for not paying the annual fee?

If I cancel or downgrade, will GE credits still post after (assuming the purchase is made while the card is open)?

i don't have a link but I read several times that people did it and got credited. I don't recall if it was canceled or downgraded though.

Strange story: I tried downgrading plat & PRG that were both opened the same day this month (same billing cycle). Plat worked. PRG didn't "because you need to complete the first billing cycle to downgrade". But it worked on the plat! :o
BTW, the call was dropped and there was a bit of a hassle with being transferred, so he offered me a $25 statement credit. :D

That's what the chat rep said, but the phone rep said he could do it after the cycle closes...

Just tried again for myself, rep said "you have to wait another month, I think you need to have the card for at least six months"  ::)

They're all wrong. It's against the card act to raise the AF on a personal card in the first year, so downgrading the PRG (which would result in a $95 AF) is impossible. The reps don't know why the system doesn't allow it, so they're making things up.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
