There have been reports of negative MR balances after the clawbacks. It may not effect your relationship with amex, but all future bonuses will go towards "paying off that debt"
I hear, the safer option everyone is saying is to just transfer them out, and if there is a negative balance in the future I will deal with it, as apposed to leaving the current MR and seeing what happens, it sounds like that is the way to go

Safe is relative. But yeah this is definitely the more "profitable" way out. Lol

SQ/AC would be pretty good options.
I am afraid of the SQ expiration, but I guess I will have to take a trip within 3 years. What will give me more flexibility AC or SQ?
Is there an easy way to earn an AC point to keep them from expiring? (I am not that familiar with either program)

So I have had the Platinum Card for the year and have gotten benefit out of alot of the perks, such as airline fees and global entries.  But dont see the need going forward.  Will miss my SPG Gold status, however.

I have an AMEX Everyday card.  If I keep that open, will my points automatically move onto that card and not be forfeited?
Is there any reason to downgrade the Platinum, and if so, is there any no fee card to do this with?

Thanks

If the platinum & everyday card are the same membership rewards account then its already connected. There isn't a no-AF to downgrade the platinum to. There's the green card.

Will miss my SPG Gold status, however.
According to most reports, even though it officially gets cancelled, it doesn't really until the next calendar year

Got it, ok, where should I transfer them to? I have no specific plans this second
SQ/AC would be pretty good options.

i would forget BA as they are pretty useless these days with very little Aa saver availability and the removal of the 4500 avios routes

I agree that they're harder to use than in the past, but they're definitely still useful.

I have a bunch of ba and dw has ba, so I don't think I need that, what about ana? Does that have potential to be useful?

If you don't know what you need, call your local orthodox broker.
