I think maybe you have Pay Over Time on your Personal Plat.
You're right. Although I don't remember enrolling. I guess I'll need to contact Amex to disenroll. Thanks!

In my experience it doesn't matter, even if it shows a due date (because because you are enrolled in Pay Over Time) you can still pay by the closing date if it's a charge card.

From the Notice I posted yesterday it's apparent that this will change come 1.1.17.

I have the Gold business card for a few years, never wanted to open the plat. now im eager to open it with all new benefits, as i spend a ton by airlines.
amex offered me to UPGRADE the gold to plat for 50K bonus, should i rather do a pull on my credit and open a brand new account, and carry another card in wallet or rather do a upgrade?
Any advise?

if you never got the bonus on the bus plat then don't upgrade. Open a new one and then upgrade this way you get the bonus and the upgrade bonus.

Once you upgrade you won't qualify for the signup bonus.

I upgraded to AA J for myself and my wife using my miles. The agent I spoke to made it clear that the total would be $75 per person and said there would be no close in fee for the upgrade. Upon receipt of my Amex Plat statement I saw two charges each for $150. Upon calling AA I was told there was in fact a close in fee despite them telling me the opposite earlier. They were refusing to help. I contacted Amex to dispute the charge and they told me that due to the nature of the charge (it being a "fee") there is no way to dispute it. Do I have any recourse at getting amex to help? I spoke to both a rep and his manager to no avail. They said the system would not allow them to process the dispute

My AMEX personal Plat statement closed yesterday. Last week, I made a $25 Amazon gift card purchase via MPX; the account's pending points do NOT show 5x. And the points transaction list don't show any bonus airline MR points. However, when I go to the AMEX Plat page, the MPX transaction has a symbol that indicates 5x MR for airline transactions. Do the extra 4x airline MR post at a later time?
