Amex apparently reserves the right to freeze one's MR account during an account review. This doesn't seem unfair at all for people who applied using a leaked application link that wasn't directly available via the Amex site — i.e., people who went to Amex wouldn't have found it; the link to the offer was only on third-party sites — and wasn't supposed to be available to the public.

In other words, the greedy or stupid one was the person who posted the link, not the ones who signed up unwittingly thinking it was legitimate and now want to use any of their points. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

A lot of links aren't the same like what you may find on their website. That Doesn't necessarily mean that they are not intended for the public for example referral sites have all the time referral links for different sign on bonuses than their website.

This has nothing to do with what I said.

Nobody applied for this thinking it was some run-of-the-mill referral link. This was explicitly posted on churner sites as a mistake link, with people both encouraged to apply ASAP and warned of the likely consequences. There are no unwitting victims here.

Yes at the benifits section of your plat card it shows how much of the credit is still available.

That's not true, if you looked at that reddit thread, it was pretty clear that many people had no clue of the risks involved with signing up through the link.

Hate to interrupt,  but no one is changing their mind in this conversation,  and I would hate for another good thread to be trashed.  Can this be taken offline,  or just move on?

Sounds like you didn't really hate to interrupt after all

I did,  don't like to be the killjoy,  and it was kind of fun to read through.

If they had no clue, it was from willful blindness. It was posted at Reddit /Churning, for crying out loud.

Out of respect for others who have requested that the discussion of this topic not take place here, I'm not going to respond. I'd be glad to continue via pm if you'd like.

No offense, but reddit is not exactly a respectable or experienced forum. The vast majority of people there definitely mean well, though.

Mine and my wife's points are frozen.
We both applied for target offer of 50k.
We both had the card before and applied again since we got a targeted offer with our name on it.
Now our points are frozen!
I guess is not so much to do with the 100k link just with the personal platinum.
