a friend of mine called in to downgrade his platinum to a green and was transferred to a 'different team' that downgraded the card for him, but two days later he saw that his '2016' pggm travel credit was reversed.....
If it benefits even just one fellow DDFer, its worth posting it.

That's crazy..seems they're cracking down.  Got retention 3 weeks ago,  is there any safe time to wait?

Should I be concerned over a large legit flight cancelation?
yes, they don't know the difference
What should I expect to happen?

These adjustments didn't come out of nowhere. Did you downgrade or cancel soon after receiving bonus? Were you eligible for the bonus according to the terms of the offer?

RATs?
Did you cancel or downgrade?

I'm assuming you're talking about the leaked 100k link?

The card was open for just a few months, and they didn't say anything special when he downgraded.
(Also he got the travel credit for 2017 through AA gift cards and that wasn't reversed)

I just called to cancel my platinum card, and the rep told me that I will loose all my points if I cancel since I have no other amex cards (aside from as an au). Is that info correct? He recommended I convert to the no fee Everyday card to retain my points, but that would require a credit pull since I'm switching from a charge card to a credit card. I definitely would rather avoid. If my only solution is to switch to Everyday, I may as well signup with a bonus...Is this all correct?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

If he converts to the Everyday vs me applying will they still require a hard pull?
