It does sound scary, as you cannot downgrade or cancel over chat anymore, they request that you call their retention team. Then over the phone they do review all recent transactions and do point out that you just earned the bonus and that you just benefited from the airline refund. And then you need to explain why would you downgrade or cancel if you just applied...
just tell them that your travel plans changed and you thought you would be traveling more so you feel it is unnecessary to have this card with such a high fee.

I got my BP in december with statement closing beginning of Jan. I spent more than the 5k due for the first 50k bonus, in the first month and paid it off before the next statement closed yesterday. When will my points post, as they have been pending since I hit the 5k threshold over 20 days ago?
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

first of all you are getting 100k points which is worth way more than the $450 annual fee. Then you get the $400 worth of credits in year 1 see here how to cash it out.

http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=69130.0

Finally if after year one you feel that you are not using the cards benefits you can downgrade to a cheaper card

Thanks. I currently have Blue Cash Preferred card does that change anything?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

BP will boost the value, regular won't.

depends how you got the refund and depends on the application
If you're wondering if they'll turn you into a pumpkin, they probably won't. If you're worried about them taking the points away, there's a good chance they will.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Yes they could take away your bonus if they decide to.

I'm confused. Blue allows transfers to airlines or not?

No, you earn rewards dollars which are basically statement credits when you redeem them.

Did a search but came up blank.
I bought a ticket for my wife through my biz plat using points. Is there any way she can enter lounges with my card if she's traveling alone? She's not an AU, but we have the same last name and address on our IDs.

No, why don't you make her an AU before the trip and cancel our after?

If I downgrade to Green, the prorated annual fee will be refunded at next statement closing. If I then cancel the Green before next statement closing, will I still get the prorated refund?
