I would just add to mix in regular spending and since you have 5 months go slow on the VGCs, no reason to rush it.

Why isn't this on MS? I'd love to hear Dan's take on this.
What's there to take?

I got what you were saying :D  This would be rather tough to do. You would need to trigger a refund that amex would know about (to refund the original points) and that would cause them to automatically claw back the credit as well. Another way would be, if you have a $200 ticket, you purchase it for 20k MR and receive 10k MR back. You then refund through the airline and receive $200 (easier said than done) you now have $200 for the cost of 10k MR...not really all that great a deal, and that's if you can actually pull it off.

Understood. Does not sound worth it. I was wondering if there was an easy play here, that I just didn't know about. I guess not... unless someone else out there has it. Like I said, PMs welcome. ;)
Thanks.

Forget trying to MS with AMEX BP. Just use the UPS method and you'll make a lot more money off the charges.

When you upgrade, the prorated Plat AF is usually charged on the the statement after 45 days.

1) Were you charged prorated of 450 after 45 days (Jan or Feb) of upgrade?
2) Assuming "just charged" meaning in March, is your anniversary month in March?
3) What is your average annual spend on that account?

I just did an upgrade in Jan, but given the recent changes, I decided to revert to PRG before the 45 days was up. My anniversary month is August, wonder if I should have waited now. Wondering if they are making this exception due to the recent changes to entice you to keep the card and try it longer instead of making a decision like mine.
