if you downgrade afterwards to green i think you could still apply afterwards for a new platinum

Can someone confirm that? Pretty sure the sign up offer is based on if you have had the card in the past.

didn't receive email with a link just when i signed in it popped up this offer and i clicked apply now.
for my this is $550 AF i used to do PGGM but as of now its dead so to pay $550 for 60k doesn't make to much sense even the points is worth a little more
+1 my wife's account got the same offer.
The question though is, she's never had the platinum, so is it true that if she upgrades now, she wont be able to get a platinum offer in the future? If yes, then it might make sense to first sign up for new platinum card with a higher sign up offer, and then later upgrade the gold if the offer is still around
Can you post the link it routes you to after you hit apply?

I think it worked out for Farmbochur...
It did work for me.
Here's the full timeline of events:
May 2013: Apply for BGR
Dec 2013: Upgrade BGR to Biz Plat
Jan 2014: Downgrade Biz Plat to Green
Jan 2014: Close Green
May 2017: Apply for Biz Plat
June 2017: Receive welcome offer for new Biz Plat

Before applying for the biz plat last month, I called Amex (with several HUCAs) to ask what cards I'd be eligible to apply for. I was a little incredulous but every single HUCA told me that I was eligible for a signup offer on both the biz plat and the BGR (even though my original BGR earned a signup offer, not just an upgrade offer).  A couple reps also claimed that I was eligible for an SPG biz signup offer which is ridiculous considering that I currently hold that card (applied for and received signup bonus in Sep 2015).  Presumably a case of DROPR.  Either way, I decided to take the risk and I'm glad I did!

Perhaps its different since it was a business card vs personal?
Also, did u attempt to get the BGR again after they said you were eligible?

Haven't tried.  May was already a busy month for me:
Biz Plat for DW; Biz Plat, Personal Plat (via no language targeted offer), and Hilton Surpass for me

50% points rebate has been changed/programmed differently after June 1st?
Previously, if we book with MR and cancel within 24 hours, agent couldn't refund MR, but would refund statement credit instead and 50% MR rebate later.
Recently, agent could either immediately refund the MR, or refund the statement credit.  Would refund in statement credit still result in 50% MR rebate?

If question has been asked before please refer:

I had 3 additional users on the card. I removed one and tried to add another to replace the third one. They told me that  I would be adding a fourth user. Even though I removed one, do they still count it as adding a fourth user or was phone rep misinformed and told me wrong info

I'm confused, are you frustrated that you can no longer take advantage of amex by knowingly getting the statement credit AND mr refund through intentionally canceling your travel? Since they realized this was happening they gave you the offer the get the 50% refund in either points or statement credit, but NOT both.

On the amex bus plat card is there a once per lifetime bonus limit?

I read promotion terms on this link, doesnt seem to have any such restriction.

Seems pretty clear cut to me...

Did you read the offer terms?
