Quick possibly silly q:

is the rebate just buying a revenue ticket where amex values each point as a cent or so and then you get some points back?

Why is this better than using the points for rewards with better redemption (first class etc) or even selling the points?

It depends how you use them. MR (and most hybrid points) can get a better value than their cash value when transferred, but it's not always an option. They're good to have on hand for a flight that is cheap in dollars, and/or has no award availability/bad redemption rate. An $80 domestic flight for 5.2k MR is going to be a better value than most award redemptions.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Can someone please advise on the "latest and greatest " way to get the $200 airline credit?  I have used PGGM and MileagePlusX in the past, but a review of previous posts tells me that those methods don't work anymore.

Thanks!

You called today, on day 32?

If you downgrade to the green card ($95 af) I believe that you will get a pro-rated refund.

But you can just book a flight with a pet, (I do it with united) then cancel the ticket (within 24 h) and you'll still get reimbursed for the "cost" of the pet by amex.

Is the $15 uber credit that we get monthly from platinium card still working for uber eats? So we just install both uber and uber eats app and add our platinium card and that is all we have to do

INME yes.
Even using the same account login? You get double credit?  Or just the ability to use by either app
