Yes. They just put the points back, and Charge your card again. I did it many times.

What kind of DPs do you want? It exists.

Re: AA GC for Travel Credit
« Reply #9366 on: January 14, 2019, 11:02:08 AM »
I purchased 2 AA E GC's of 100 each in 1 transaction on 12/31 and it posted as a single 200 charge. Still no Amex credit. How long does it usually take to post?

Any advice?

Credit still didn't post. Anyone else having issues with AA GC's?

Should I call amex?

Interesting...
I booked 5 tickets in econ with LOT on amex travel with cash, and on the confirmation email it says "congratulations, this flight qualified to receive a 35% airline bonus" (but i didn't book with points) so i called amex and they told me that yes indeed it does qualify but since it was a cash ticket i have to wait 48h and call back to switch it to points so i can get 35% back.
Anyone had anything similar?
And is it worth switching to a points ticket and taking the risk that they might not honor it because there is no reason they should.
The amex rep told me that any copartners with the chosen airline in this case JBU qualify for 35% back even in econ... does anyone know of this?

Know of what? that you get in Econ 35% on the Chosen airline for the Amex airline fee? Was always since they started the rebate

https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/detail/airline-bonus

Quote
Select a qualifying airline. Use Membership Rewards® Pay with Points for all or part of your flight with that airline, and you can get 35% of the points back.

Or, with any airline, book a First or Business class flight and you can get 35% of the points back. No enrollment necessary. With the 35% Airline Bonus benefit, you can get up to 500,000 bonus points per calendar year.‡

How It Works
Select the qualifying airline you want online, or by calling the number on the back of your Card. You can change your airline selection online or by phone once a year in January.
Use Membership Rewards® Pay with Points to book flights with your selected airline through American Express Travel online or by calling Business Platinum Travel Service.
You'll receive 35% of the Membership Rewards® points used for flights with your selected airline back, approximately 6-10 weeks after charges appear on your billing statement.
With the 35% Airline Bonus benefit, you can get up to 500,000 bonus points per calendar year.

Good to Know
You can book a First or Business class fare with any airline available through American Express Travel and receive 35% points back. No enrollment required.
The airline you select for the 35% Airline Bonus and the $200 Airline Fee Credit‡ must be the same.
A flight booked as part of a travel package or booked with the American Express U.S. Representative Travel Network is not eligible for the 35% Airline Bonus.
With the 35% Airline Bonus benefit, you can get up to 500,000 bonus points per calendar year.

First trying to figure out what JBU is... DDF uses IATA codes & not ICAO codes.

The co-partners thing I believe is wrong - I guess report back if you do get the 35%

Not sure who gave you your information. If, for example, if your selected airline is UA, and you book through United, and one way is with a *A airline that codeshares with them you should get back 35%, since the charge will show up as United for both ways, but definitely not in the case you mentioned.
