Okay, so I responded that it was seat upgrade, and she was back after a few seconds with "I have great news for you, credit request has been accepted, to be issued in 5 business days.

It's just worth to know that AA can get stuck and may not be fool proof.

Thanks all for your help!

Do whatever you'd like. But keep in mind you're not just playing a system, you're straight up lying. Not sure why that's ok/mutar.

I'm using the extra funds to buy a new chair. Isn't that seat upgrade?  ;)

Did I ask you to do it? If you don't feel like it's okay, please don't do it.

exactly. Just because they credit it automatically doesnt make you scott free. Buying gift cards is a grey area as it is not what the credit was intended for. So if they automatically credit it, its ok, but if you have to get them to manually credit by telling a lie its not ok?

This is what we call a hypocrite. If you have an issue with it then use it for its intended purpose. No reason to put others down.

Why am I a hypocrite? Who put others down? No, not following the terms and conditions exactly the way an issuer writes it is not the same as telling a blatant lie. If you think it is, then you should probably take a step back and think about it. It's their system which recognizes the transaction as such, not you telling it what to do. Lying straight up is assur, and probably fraud too. Do you really not see a difference?!

Hochiach Tochiach Es Amisecha Vlo Sisa Alav Chet. I specifically said do whatever you'd like, I was just pointing out what's wrong with it, as I felt I should. Sometimes lines get crossed unthinkingly in this game that we don't intend to cross. I was giving advice that you can choose to follow or not. It's your life and decisions, not mine.

If you don't like my advice, you can choose to ignore it, but don't put others down... Irony?

Two different amex CR, in two different calls, told me that if I were to downgrade to green, they'll claw back the 100K MR points. Anyone have recent experience with this?

What’s the situation? For how long have you had the card?

thats why you cancel/downgrade in the 13th month of opening the card so you dont have this problem of clawbacks

Do they clawback anything else like the travel credit...?
