it's not going to post in time
Last year I had a laptop that shipped 2 weeks after 12/31 and was charged on the ship date and I still got back the 10%. But the Amex offer may have worked differently.

do the 1.5 mr points bonus on transactions above 5k and the 5x points on amextravel.com combine?
meaning if i order 5k of tickets on amextravel.com will i get only 25k mr, or i will get 27.5k?

I just received my order from Saks for the $50 credit and it came with an unloaded gift card that you can load online with cc. Any idea if that would work to trigger the credit for Jan?
Anyone know if this would work?

I've had Biz Plat the last 2 years. Annual fee just posted on 12/24, went up from $450 to $595 so planning to cancel card this month. Before canceling, I'd like to take advantage of the $100 Dell credit and $200 airline credit for 2020.

But if I spend those this week and then cancel the card 2 weeks later to avoid AF, am I risking clawbacks of these credits, or shutdowns of my other AMEX cards, or should I be safe if I've had it open and paid AF the past 2 years?

FYI
Retention on the platinum has been quite generous lately.

Thanks for the info. I'll see what they offer when I call to cancel. In the meantime, I'm still trying to decide if I should take advantage of the Dell and travel credits for 2020 beforehand, or if I'm asking for clawbacks or worse if I end up cancelling 2 weeks after using them. I know they've been cracking down on abuse of benefits, but I have paid the AF for the past 2 years. Any DP or advice on if I'm safe or asking for trouble?

Does Amex also call you with random questions about your business, and if you utilize the benefits?

My father applied for a Schwab Plat via a targeted email that came directly from Schwab (100K after $5K spend).

He hadn't received the points a few weeks after hitting the spend, so I chatted with amex (on his account) and they said that there are notes on the account that he is ineligible for the welcome bonus due to the following language on the offer:

"Welcome offer not available to applicants who have or have had this Card. We may also consider the number of American Express Cards you have opened and closed as well as other factors in making a decision on your welcome offer eligibility."

Chat rep said he should have been notified of this during sign up. My father says that he never had a Schwab plat before and that he did not see any popup while applying that said he was ineligible (although it could be that there was one and he just ignored it).

Is there any recourse? Any specific number he should call and would it help?

Have an offer for plat 70k/5000 spend
Gold 50k/4000
Green 45k/2000

Which would you go for?
Should I go for plat or hold out for possible 100k offer? What are the odds?
Haven’t been in the game a while. Does amex approve more than 1?

So if I have any amex card no chance of getting 100k offer?
Standard? I was seeing much lower numbers earlier in the week...I have a feeling they’re tracking cookies and trying to entice me lol

I received an au offer on my email for my consumer platinum 5k points for 500 spend up to 4 au however this is the 2nd time I received the email  I already accepted the first time 2 months back and met the spending requirements received the points and downgraded all 4 au's to amex gold, can I sign up for them  again now that I got a 2nd email and still get the au bonus?

Yes I’ve done it multiple times. Also you don’t have to add the au’s as plats, you can make them originally as free green cards and still get the bonuses.

thank you for that response? are you sure I dont have to sign up for the platinum card authorized users to get the bonus? and i think the other options are gold  card, not the green card. also, I did not shut the gold card yet from the last time i got an email for an authorized user bonus . did you close your original credit cards before you resigned up for the au bonus?
