If I paid for a $400 2022 hotel booking at the end of 2021
Full charge posted 2021 and received $200 credit then- would amex travel refund and recharge half to make me receive the 2022 amex credit as well?

No

Are you talking about the sign up bonus? Don't do it
How soon can I downgrad/close the card to save on the annual fee?

Where did you find this? I couldn’t find any.

Check out this link to find eligible hotels

Found a page that makes it easier to search - https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/travel/discover/destinations
Further - if you only want 1 night, filter to Fine Hotels & Resorts as only that's eligible.

From what I remember - I believe Asbury Ocean Club and a place in Philly (Ritz?) that were free after $400 credit. I was willing to pay more so I don't remember if there was anything else.

Helping 2 people with their AMEX Platinum cards.

1 persons "benefits" tab shows where they're holding with airline fee credit and hotel credit
the other person gets taken to the "rewards" tab when they hit benefits and then they can't see where they're holding with the hotel credit - only airline

Any ideas as to why this happens?

No one else has this issue?

Chat to register an airline or Dell and it should correct itself.

I've seen people mentioning having $400 in hotel credit.
Do they allow one to split payment for a booking between 2 platinum cards?

No. I posted about $400 credit, and was referring to a combo of hotel and travel credit for $200 each.

I believe the amex pop-up (showing if you’d be eligible for the welcome bonus) occurs prior to the hard-pull. So you should be fine.

I just applied - no pop up.  Will I def get the bonus?

Has anyone found an easy way to compare nightly charges for various FHR?  Amex makes you click thru several times ON EACH HOTEL to get to a number for a given date range.  Super tedious.....

An airline credit was received and now the flight was cancelled.

If I opt for the airline to refund the $100s back to the credit card, will AMEX claw back the credits?  Same question for the Gold card.

Southwest under $100 works.

Just adding to this, I think it works up to $109.

Any datapoints on what happens if I cancel a Amex Travel WALDORF ASTORIA Jerusalem hotel reservation that I used the $400 hotel and travel credit for? If it gets crawled back, I would rather ask hotel for credit (dunno if they'd give one). TIA!
