if i make a pre paid fhr purchase and then shortly downgrade or cancel that card, will that credit still stand ? will amex rat take action?

i saw it claimed that if you spent 75k across all amex cards you received the free guests, it did not  have to specifically be on the platinum card. can those that received the email chime in if that is true or did they receive it even though they did not have the 75k across all cards.
