You should have called right away. It's pending because it sees 2 similar cards. It'll only go through once you call and get a new pull.

Sorry for possible repost, I looked through this thread a bit but didn't see an answer although I admit I didn't read all 108 pages.
I have Amex Plat, got the 100k bonus and want to downgrade to get refunded some of the annual fee. Called AMex to downgrade to Green but rep said with Green I can't transfer the MR points to airlines, must use them to book travel thru amex travel site.
Is there a way to keep the points, still have the flexibility of airline transfer, and have a card with less than the $175 Gold annual fee?

Rep is incorrect AFAIK. Green can xfer to airlines.

True. a few years back (when I didnt know anything about CC's and I made big mistakes) I had the amex gold and downgraded to Zync and was only able to use the points for gifts through amex. I only found out after that if I would have downgraded to Green I would have been able to use the points for airlines. You learn from your mistakes.

Did anyone who had the gold card get the 100k for plat. When the offer came out for 100k I called amex and asked if I could get the sign up bonus even though I have the gold I was told that I would still get the 100k as soon as I spent the $3k the bonus fell off the card just opened a dispute with membership rewards. Any chance I'm going to get the 100k?

After canceling the platinum I used the clubs twice now I got a letter from priority club that Amex let them know that I canceled and am no longer covered... Any experiance?
