It doesn't seem like you got the hint from the above comments,  so lemme say it straight out. . .

Reps have no clue what they're talking about. Just bec "amex told you" - that won't help you when you don't get your points. . .

My wife and I each have an AMEX Plat and MB AMEX Plat that we opened in December, juiced it for benefits. I now want to close/downgrade (I should have done it sooner, but I didn't get around to it). My only other AMEX is SPG. I already downgraded my AMEX Plat to Green. What should I do with all of them? I don't really need them and I want to get a prorated AF refund - should I cancel all 4? Downgrade all to Green? Close two and keep 1 Green for each of us? Do I need to keep a Green for each of us in order to keep our MR points? TIA.

If you can downgrade them (and someone else will have to weigh in here) then you'll have them for SBS.

"SBS" = Small Business Saturday?

I'm not sure if the $95 AF for each card (they won't waive the first year AF - I called several times) is worth it for me. Is that the only other benefit of keeping the green card around?

Hi there. Does anyone out there know the following:
If I do the Grand Mehalech to extract the 200 ariline fee and shortly after, I downgrade the card? Will they deduct the 200 from the refund of the 450 annual fee?

They got it automatically or they fought for it

Does anyone have advice on how to convince Amex to give the 100,000 platinum points if they had a Gold card open at the time?

Did a 3bm for plat, mb plat and blue cash in January (i have an active gold card opened in 09/12)

Got my MB plat bonues and called a while back about getting the points for the regular plat and they told me to wait 8 weeks for the bonus to post.

Call me lucky but this happened last night when i finally decided to SM them for my first time about it:

Hi
I was accepted for the amex platinum earlier this year and met the $3000 threshold shortly after.
I have greatly being enjoying this incredible service provided by you guys and would like to thank you for the great service!
I routinely called a while ago to see when my 100K sign up bonus would be posted to my account.
The rep from Membership rewards said it will take 8 weeks which ended in early April...I am really looking forward to using these points in the MR mall etc and was wondering if you could apply them to my account manually, as i have been waiting since January.
thanks so much

Dear ******,

I understand that you wish to obtain information regarding the bonus points.

As per the promotion linked to your Card account, bonus offer is not available to applicants who have had a Platinum Card account within the last 12 months or any Consumer ZYNC, Green or Gold Card account within the last 90 days.

This information is mentioned on the application.

I see that you have an active Premier Rewards Gold Card (ending in 01005). Therefore, 100,000 points were not issued for this Card.

However, as you were promised that the points will be issued, I have made special arrangements for you. I have issued 100,000 points and these have been transferred to your rewards account immediately.

You can use the points anytime you want to.

We appreciate your selection of American Express and will always consider it our privilege to be of service.

Sincerely,
