Which ones have members tried and returned positive results?
I actually had them credit my starwood account the $450

I'd be worried that that could cause the loss of 450 Starpoints.

Will this credit also work for the 200 in spending on AA gift certificates?
Will they send a 650 check or is that pushing my luck?

Yes, no problem.

Did you notice he said $650? If he means they'll give him cash in lieu of the $200 airline-fee-rebate benefit, I don't know how easy that'll be...

they won't give cash-in-lieu. he but if he paid the $200 on the bill before the credits came through, the balance would be negative $200 before canceling-negative $650 after. they would probably give a check for that.

Sorry about the ignorance but does it cost to add au's on the amex plat? If yes, how much? And does the au get all the benefits it comes with (lounge access insurance etc...)?

Yes, it costs $175 to add up to 3 additional AU's. They will get lounge access, and the other built in AMEX beneifits like Purchase Protection, Extended Warranty, but I'm not sure about the other benefits.

Some of us here have been lucky. It's been around 3 months and I still was not charged for the AU's.

It seems that some folks get the 50K bonus points posted very quickly.     I charged over $1000 to my AMEX PLAT card within the first 6 days.    Bill came 5 days later.    I've clearly met my requirements for the 50K bonus, but it's been two weeks now and nothing extra has posted to my account.

I called AMEX and inquired and their only response is that it takes up to 10 weeks for the bonus points to post.    YIKES!

When I asked about having them manually post them for me since it was obvious that I'd met the purchase hurdle within the first 6 days, the rep I spoke to said that was impossible; I'd simply have to wait patiently.

Is there any way around this?   Any other suggestions?   I do not plan to retain the card after I can get those 50K points into my CO account.

THANKS all!

Sometimes it posts right away, sometimes it takes 2 months. No rhyme or reason.
You can always try borrowing points if you need them now.

+1, though (if you haven't yet) paying your bill might help.

I thought the same thing, which is why I paid the bill on line within 48 hours of its posting.   I had hoped that the bonus miles would post within no more than a week's time.   ;(

Amex Plat? Just borrow the 50k (I think you need to have another Amex card for them to allow this).

My brother closed his card after 64 days so they only let him change to a different card ($125 annual fee)and than pro rate the annual fee

That sounds very strange. I would have tried back and talked to another rep...
