You're better off with a check. If you post it to a different account you're likely to lose $450 in rewards (e.g. starpoints on an SPG card).

even if the account is closed. ive done it numerous times and never lost anything.
i can only say from past experiences.... but who knows!

not sure if this was discussed elsewhere but i did search thru the whole thread (22 long pages)
is the 450$ included in the 1000$ purchases? ( i only did this twice already.... im on round 3, but i never tried it including in the 1000$)

pretty sure not. it's not 'spent' on the card as "purchase"

You mention you are on Round 3 with the Amex Plat card? When were Rounds 1 & 2? When did you open and cancel (if cancelled) each card? My wife got the card for the first time 3/10/11 (50K offer), getting ready to cancel, but wondering when she can expect to be accepted if she applies again.

i did one for me, and one for my husband both end of dec/beg of jan. closed both and opened one again for my husband about 2 months after i closed his. i didnt get approved cus of a messup on one of my cards- but it wasnt a problem for him. so were on round 3.

Do you have another active Plat card? If yes, when did you get it? If not, when did you cancel your previous Plat?
