What Do You Value More Overall, MR Or UR?

Personally MR.

Not sure why people still value UR more than MR, if it was before the devaluation, I understand, UA was my favorite currency as well, but now besides Hyatt I see MR with much more opportunities, first of all, ALMOST each and every UA operated flight which is available for award can be booked with MR which transfers to Aeroplan and SQ for a far better value -

Domestic US/Canada flights - UA 12.5K with close in fee; Aeroplan 12.5k with NO close in fee.

NA-Europe on LO, SN, LX - UA 70K with close in fee; Aeroplan  45/52k with no close in fee.

NA-TLV on UA - UA 70K with close in fee; SQ 57.5k with no close in fee.

Same goes for intra-Europe and Europe-Middle east flights.

Now with MR you have AZ, FB, and some other partners that UR does not offer and you can find some really sweet spots when redeeming FB (and AZ) as well as all the other partners.

I value my MR points more than my UR points.

On the one hand that makes sense as scarcity drives value.
On the other hand with miles in particular, the currency that's easier to obtain has more value because you can get more of it together for an aspirational award.

I almost exclusively book short haul avios tickets...yes ink at 5ppd is best but point for point, spg worth 1.25 and that makes it my favorite point

mostly spg amex benefits and for the rare times I need points elsewhere...yes chase ba earns the same amount, but still comparing point to point here (I also don't like to keep many points in my ba account at once in case of a shut down )

+1 MR are accumulate unless you get targeted with a Biz Blat 100/150K offer since the regular Plat/PRG/ED's either have low bonuses and/or can't be churned.

Aside from the signup bonus, if you have an Ink card, you can rack up points with a little effort.

For the amount of spend i would need to do on that card to redeem a 2-3 day stay at a higher tier property, i can get airfare and hotel with Ink spending. The lack of bonus categories is pretty annoying.

I find close to zero value in SPG's top hotels.
Hyatt is far more accessible.
