Denied due to prior unsatisfactory relationship. They probably have me confused with someone else.  :)

What's the "unsatisfactory relationship" ? Have they previously shut down any accounts ?

taking away your job :)
If Chase let me back in twice already I am sure they will let you back in. Give it some time.

Yes but this time I didn't call recon right away instead I just waited. Not sure if that made a difference.

I got the ink plus a couple of months ago when they had the 60k promotion. When I applied to get the card I called them up and told them that the offer in my branch was with the annual fee waived but the offer on the website wasn't so the rep said that he would make a note on the account and they would waive it for me and I would get the 60k points.
Fast forward a month and I get hit with the $95 annual fee, I call them up and explained the situation, the rep said that they see the note to have the annual fee waived but that it is only a request and they don't have to enforce it. I asked to be transferred to supervisor who told me the same thing so I HUCA. I explained the situation to the new rep and the first thing he told me was that there is a note on the account that I had spoken to a supervisor previously and that it says the supervisor said they can't waive the fee. Anybody experience something like this? Any ideas on how to get the fee waived?

You mean waiting might've made it worse ? Because usually its the other way around. The reps do more digging.

I just called the number on the back of my Ink card and after I hit 0 the call was answered (in an American accent, no less) with "Thank you for calling the Executive Line".

When I inquired as to why I was transferred to the Executive line, I was told I am now a Tier-1 client due to my relationship with Chase (credit cards only, no deposit or any other accounts).

Anybody else get this?

They saw how many people you successfully referred to amex, they wanted to get you on board for them as well.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
