Anyone have any insight into which vacuum to get?

Dunno about reconditioned but If you are getting for personal use the damaged Box is perfectly new, it also had the original warranty.

It is a good sale.  Prices better than on amazon, though the boxes are damaged (doubt that's a big deal).
From CR:
Hoover has been reliable, not quite as good as Miele or LG.
Best upright a kenmore scores 74. The Hoover models and scores are below:
30600--70.
70120--69.
6485-900--65.
30310--65.
30300--65.

70205--59.
70600--57.

I just grabbed a 30600 for $79.
And yes, I know CR is not the end all, be all, but besides my own experience (still have a Hoover upright bought T Costco 16y ago that works fine, was about $40 then), what else is there to guide?
