the NFL is going to keep getting killed on this issue regarding ray rice
I don't think there is anything they can do it about now after they punished him already

this is a joke.
if it was the 53rd guy on the roster, he'd have been cut before you can say "roger". the only reason he got 2 games is because he's a star.

Fair point.
The difference, I believe, is that the substance abuse policy is clearly spelled out in the CBA whereas domestic abuse is not. (In other words, there isn't much wiggle-room in the Josh Gordon case.)
Therefor, I believe that when the commisioner has complete latitude to levy punishment, he will be lenient on stars vs average players and I believe that it is wrong.
