Classic cars
« on: September 08, 2014, 06:23:30 PM »
I just bought a 1969 Austin Healey Sprite Mk IV.

Does anyone have any comments about this car regarding upkeep and/or feelings?

Does anyone else have an old/classical car that they want to talk about or get advice on?

I'm very interested in antique car restoration, especially jeeps. Is in in good condition or are you going to restore it?

How much did you pay?
Work is what you do between vacations.

My first car that I learned to work on was a 1971 Dodge Dart 225 slant 6. Wasn't much of a car but I learned a ton with such a simplistic mechanical platform.

Got the car after it sat for 15 years. Worked on it until it was running and driving.

Hopefully you have a nice garage that you can keep it in to work on it.

Hope to get a nice 60's muscle car soon as a project.

Nice. I am more of a Mopar guy when it comes to older muscle cars. It would also need to be a V8 with a manual.

Right now I am content with my modern day muscle car

What year V?  I almost bought one last year but went for something a little more refined  ;D

I've always wanted to pick up a classic or two, I just don't have garage space.

I've always wondered what insurance is like on those cars?  I'd presume it's minimal as they don't get much time on the street.

Mine is an '05. Picked it up last year with 35k miles. Car is a blast and I wish I had a longer drive everyday. I only put about 2k miles on my car each year so I plan on having this one for a long time.

Insurance on my car is regular since it is my daily driver. When I had my Dart I paid $150 a year for classic car insurance.

I believe so. I sold the car a while ago so I don't remember for sure.
