A Rabbi in camp actually once told us something similar. I can't remember his exact wording or point, but it was something like go to the game if you must have that kind of relaxation, but to get Kosher food from the food stand? to make a minyan? ... I can't remember what his point was. lol But he was okay with going to the game, but didn't like bringing Judaism into it. Again, not sure why.

Personally, I've never been to a baseball game in my life, but I fail to understand how Davening with a Minyan is "Shaming G-D in public"... :-\

Is your point that a baseball game is an inappropriate place for a nice Jewish boy to go and therefore someone who isn't concerned with being in an  inappropriate place shouldn't be concerned with davening with a minyan ?

What's that have to do with taking a break for a minyan? The Barditchever would have made Mat'amim from such a scene...

+1 maybe the issue is that its giving credence to going to a baseball game.
What would you say about having a minyan in a movie theater ?

Ok, don't think I agree with the first reason. 2nd reason I'm still contemplating.

if someone must go to a game... pray before , or pray in your seat ..
with a book or bag on your face, as closing your eyes doesnt help . see SH"A .

similiar but unrelated note:
many ppl mistakenly think that "checking in" to a minyan is better than a personal prayer.
Doing a minyan is part of the "culture" of judaism. its the SAME as Chulent.
Where is the connection to H shm? ?

The connection to Hashem is there by virtue of davening together with 9 other Jews.

Who are you to decide which action connects a person to Hashem? If Halachah says davening with a minyan connects you to Hashem more than davening alone who are you to say otherwise?

Tefila b'tzibur is cultural? Like chulent? Ummm, no, you're wrong. Tefila b'tzibur is a din in Shulchan Aruch.
