"Doing" a minyan. read the post carefully
Whatevs, man. I remember you from the shaving thread. You have your own ranking system about which mitzvos you get excited about.

You've got your own biases and they're pretty clear, kiddo. I guess you're the only one who's "risen above the matrix" though.  ;)

Doing a minyan is part of the "culture" of judaism. its the SAME as Chulent.

correct

(better follow mindlessly and follow.)

to sum up my points:
No jewish kid belongs at a stadium ,
If you went, for Heaven Sakes , lie low, and do your thing , dont pray in public and act like a Tzadik,
Prayer is your personal connection, its not about the 7th inning or the kiddush club,
A REAL tefilah in private beats checking into a Minyan.
Dont blindly follow Chabad or any group And stupidly spout their opinions!!!!!

I'm sorry! So quoting Shulchan Aruch is a Chabad thing now? The only mindless statements in this thread are yours! A few people explained pretty well why they believe davening with a minyan is a Halachah that applies everywhere, including the Yankee's stadium and all we got in return was some mindless Chabad bashing. Is that what Judaism boils down to for you? If you can't give a rational answer just bash Chabad?

FTR what does Chaba"d stand for?

You are out of your mind. I don't have time now to join the argument but I grew up disagreeing with chabad on many things I choose not to bring those arguments up and instead keep quiet, but of all arguments against chabad you picked one that makes no sense

I assume its a serious question since this is already in JS :P

There is a concept called "Assey Lecho Rav" - "Create for yourself a Rabbi" putting aside people that a looking for an easy way out, if you are an honest god fearing Jew you make a calculated proper decision that this is a person that I respect and trust and I would like for him to be my rabbi and leader, once you decide that when you turn to him for advice of if he tells you something that you need to do then yes not only is it okay its required.

Rabbis the concept of not going to non Jewish stadiums for their games is a very old one and is in fact mentioned in the gemara Avodah Zarah (I believe 17B, no Hebrew letters here on my computer). Now I'm not saying it's an outright issur (because you may be able to differentiate) but don't make it like it's some crazy new-found chumra, as it's not. The underlying theme there is that it's leitzanus, not even chukas hagoy.

I'm with you on that, as I said before, I was never at a sporting stadium in my life.

I don't think that's what the discussion is about...

Ya just referring back to before where people were making it sound like "there's nothing wrong". Now I'm not saying there is something majorly wrong but don't make it sound like there aren't issues with it as there clearly are.
