Thinking about shipping this from Amazon to Israel.
There is a 600 NIS permit required for importing a gas grill to Israel. Doesn't seem like that's included in the cost, but Amazon seems to guarantee you won't need to pay extra import fees. Anyone with any thoughts on what would happen here?

Maybe Amazon has the permit? (I assume a permit allows you to import multiple items, otherwise you would have called it a tax.)

BTW, thanks to your advice in the other Israel thread, I ordered thermostats from Amazon.it and according to dhl.com they cleared customs today and are arriving tomorrow.  All for a total cost less than half of what the official importer wanted to charge me to wait 2 months for.

Maybe Amazon will be responsible for finally bringing a consumer-centric culture to Israel.

Chances are ull pay 17% VAT on it. Theres a reason y target stopped shipping to Israel.  I would NOT import something like that here. Heres the lowest i find on zap, its on sale for 1390 shekel. There also having a black friday like sale now. Of course you'll pay VAT, that's included in Amazon import fees. The question is the extra permit fee.
Definitely could but that grill you linked, but the one on Amazon has 600 good reviews and I don't know anything about the one you linked. Could be a piece of junk.

Yes, it's expensive to ship an 90 pound grill.
You can browse on Zap and see what things cost. But it's definitely not cheap. Think about getting the charbroil with Tru infrared 3 burner. On sale now for around 2800 NIS. But that's a lot of money

I read somewhere that the issue with Target may have been due to some Israeli import laws which were not taken into account before launching the free shipping offer. I think it's on electronics and food that there are high fees to import due to certain examination requirements in each of those categories.
