But there are Shleppers out there that light the candles late for no good reason, & they may have gotten it, thought maybe  your one of them.
Or just make a deal with your family in the States, let them know your preferred dates, if there is a glitch on friday they'll book it, & when there is a glitch on Shabbes you'll book it
BTW for all my family in Israel reading this, when there is a glitch on shabbes please get me tickets for Purim

Family member is a bit sick. What can a tourist do, if he needs to visit a doctor ? Do you need insurance - ( I'm assuming American insurance won't work here ) is it possible to get for the length of your stay like yeshiva bachurim ?
Would a  pediatric doc. see someone for a minimal fee, what do you about prescriptions ?

its possible to get the insurance but its probably not worth it you need to pay 4 months on signup

American insurance may not work here but depending on what insurance you have you may be able to pay cash and when you get back to America send in your receipts and they reimburse you.

IIRC 70 shekel for the visit. I've done it a few times when I was there as a bocher.

Doctor visits are significantly cheaper then in America. If just for a checkup and prescription then probably not worth insurance

Thanks all for the help. Anybody have his number ? It's actually for an adult - not sure why I wrote pediatrician - any general practitioner in the Shamgar area ? If not will just go to him, since it's most convenient.
