that report is from feb 2015 welcome to israel where things change every day
http://www.jerusalemkoshernews.com/category/jkn-alerts/kfi/
since then rabbi weiner has given his hashgacha on it and took it off again
no american rav currently approves
The reason why it was taken off again, is solely because Aguda forced them to use certain products which Rabbi Weiner could not approve of.

I didn't know that KFI closed down.

KFI is History! This is Rabbi Weiners doing. (with Rabbi Kubers backing)

That's a very blatant statement, besides not every Ruv is American
i stick to what i said that any rav that caters to the american crowd here in ey and knows the first thing about kashrus in ey does not approve at the current moment.

How does one pass your "first thing about kashrus" test?

Probably knowing the difference between meat and dairy. That's the first thing anyone learns. No?

How can they force to use specific products?
Let's say if the store doesn't want to use garlic powder, can the Hasgacha force them to use it?

He doesn't mean products, he means hashgochos.
If he knows what he means at all, that is.

Even hashgachos, how can they force?
Let's say the store only wants to use badat"z products, can they force to use Rubin?

If they feel that they trust, inspect or understand Rubin products better then of course they can. They're in charge.

Basically Aguda started a Shechita a few months ago, and told Sheyan that being the restaurant is under their Hashgacha they have to use their meats.

Rabbi Weiner told them that if they use those meats he will be forced to remove his certification, as there are very fishy things going on with their Shechita. But the Aguda wouldnt hear of it, and subsequently sent a shipment of meat under strict orders to just drop it off at the restaurant and not ask any questions.

to summarize and move along. a group of rabbanim that cater to the american crowd wanted to help the americans in navigating where they can eat establishing kfi, due to reasons we shall not discuss kfi fell apart as of mid last year. rabbi weiner with the urge of some rabbanim gave his own personal hechsher on a couple of restaurants. these restaurants wanted his hechsher so the americans would come, he never forced them to use a certain hashgacha rather if they wanted his hashgacha they must follow certain guidelines. they eventually stopped following his requirements and he took off his hashgacha.

wow, I guess I should have known asking a simple question on this forum would just generate just more complicated questions. Although you guys were very helpful when I asked where to find bagels.

So in short, if I am ok with Agudat Yisroel Mehadrin, then Sheyan is the place to go for Chinese?
Or did I misunderstand what the current hashgacha is?
