If I am on a call over 3g/4g and then come into range of wifi, my phone will switch thereby cutting off the call. Any way to avoid that without shutting off wifi altogether? Someway to keep it from switching while using an app?

A few things - while im on a call my phone is buzzing and vibrating from texts and stuff. Is there a way tro shut that down?

Also no one can hear me well. I have to cup my hand while talking near the speaker of the phone while talking.

In addition, it is extremely delayed. i type in the search and it takes a good couple seconds. plus it doesnt show me the full contact details...

+1, but it was as bad, if not worse, with GrooveIP.

If you use your Google Voice number exclusively (or at least primarily) and place calls through the normal phone dialer, you'll still need to have your Google Voice app installed at this point. You see, the Hangouts app right now isn't declaring itself as a "phone dialer," so when you tap a phone number in another app, say on a restaurant's website in Chrome or an email in Gmail, it still opens up your phone's dialer to make that call. And unless you leave the Google Voice app installed to route that call through the Google Voice system, you'll be calling out from the number associated with your SIM — and you may not want that.


But I don't have the old Google voice app and I don't see where I can install it

IIRC, you need to enable it in Settings on the website.
