Response to naysayers:
Some of you are unbelievable. All the post does is encourage you to be careful with your personal information, to think hard about the type of schemes you are getting yourself into and to excersize caution and discretion with credit/financial decisions. So the only people whose parnassah is getting screwed by this are those that are relying on duping others to some extent.

It bothers me to no end that this is a true statement.

I am proud to say that this is not the way it is in my business.
It's true in a sense. But the main issue that people are having is they are hiding the risks from their customers. What actually ended up happening to any number of people isn't proof of the risks. You are giving them your personal information to spend under your name, while you are fully liable for it. Whether you get the amount they promise or not is sort of a side issue. That can be justified to some extent as acceptable business practise, inflating the numbers and making the advertised profit contingent on factors that you don't reveal fully. The main issue is that they are targeting and exploiting the vulnerable and naive, in a society that is so hard pressed for cash that 5k could mean the difference between declaring bankruptcy or not. They prey on the naive without informing them of the real risks involved, which is much more than just not getting the promised amount. Even if 5 thousand people didn't lose any money, or even if they gained, that doesn't mitigate the risks in any way. Nor does it justify the exploitation of the vulnerable.

He shouldn't have attempted to deal with FR by himself. I wouldn't call this a prime example of people they screwed over.
That is not a valid statment

How should he know that, or even know what an FR is? All he knows is that the CC company called him with questions, which he tried (and failed) to answer.

That is not a valid statment
They should've warned him not to get involved in it, and to call them first.

But they didn't

I would love an AMA with any of these guys.

What percentage get FRd?
What percentage get the full amount promised?
What percentage have clawback issues?
What percentage are sent bills by AmEx?

Couldn't agree more. If someone wants to steal, cheat, or lie, that's his choice. But to get others to, and not only that, but make them monetarily liable, is a whole different thing. And if someone does that, and deliberately misleads them about the risks and liability, is entrapment, and exploitation. Whether there are people that were charged for their miles after refunded tickets wiggled out of it, is wholly irrelevant.
