Response to naysayers:
Some of you are unbelievable. All the post does is encourage you to be careful with your personal information, to think hard about the type of schemes you are getting yourself into and to excersize caution and discretion with credit/financial decisions. So the only people whose parnassah is getting screwed by this are those that are relying on duping others to some extent.

Why?

No one comes out against someone just because of jealousy.

When this explodes, it will hurt our pockets in a big way.
We also have a big financial interest to bring them down.

Who's starting a crowdfunding thread to raise money to run ads exposing these people's tactics?

It's worth every dollar. One credit card being declined a year from now because of it is a bigger loss than any money you need to invest in it.

In all fairness, for those reasons, I actually thought of signing up with the people at the Parnassah Expo (is this the same group who had a booth there?)    When people unknowingly fall prey to shady actions that also affect me.....it's a different story.

You've been involved in this conversation for years. You still think everyone wants it shut down out of the goodness of their hearts, and because of their pity on the cc companies? What a noble forum we have here.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

What's the prepaid business?
Prepaid cellular service.

I certainly like the spiff system.

I don't mind admitting my selfishness; I wish it wasn't cracked down on because I was saving money due to the abuse.

A and B do not seem to be legitimate grievances to call these people scamming the people signing up (besides for the fact that many people here do it on a smaller scale). They are scamming the CC company, not their "customers".

They are scamming the company in the customers name.
Many people would not agree to allow scamming done in their name.

Besides that, they are also scamming their clients.

1. They promise $5,000 and don't always pay that amount. If you say you will pay $5,000 and you pay $4,000 you cheated me out of $1,000, not very hard to understand.
2. They don't notify their clients that they will be using shady tactics that the client may not agree to for ethical reasons.
3. They don't notify clients of the risks and potential liabilities involved.

When you make an agreement where you have no intentions of dealing in good faith or in keeping your word, you are scamming the other side.
So yes, these farms are scams plain and simple.

The fact that they might pay $4,000 instead of $5,000 is not necessarily the biggest issue. It is indicative, however, that they are not running an honest business, which plays out in a few ways. One of which is that the stuff they are doing in other people's names is NOT stuff those people would do knowingly.

Using it for yourself and using it for a business is 2 different things.

Not at all, I disagree that they're only getting scammed on the liabilities part.
They're getting scammed in 3 different ways, compared to your 1.

You got it all wrong..
I don't justify these ppl, giving less than they promised is not fair.
all i am saying is CALM DOWN. Most ppl that were "trapped" got a nice sum out of it, even it was less than promised. (again i don't justify it, but it's just like every other business inflating their ads etc.)
very FEW ppl (Dan is still waiting for ONE person to tell him a firsthand story) were "messed up" If you call FR messed up, and even those that really got messed up, it was cleared  up afterwards, as you see there was not even a single report of somebody who had a loss.
so what are you making a fuss about??
What's wrong with you!!??
Forget about what they say, it's what they don't say!
Let's see them tell one person that they do refundable ticket where we fool American express that we are buying something and then we return it.
And if you ask them if they do that they lie and say they don't!
So yes this is bank fraud and theft!

The story I just recently told by guy was that
1) when they originally signed him up they didn't make sure to get all apps approved on one day . Rather they let apps sit and within a few weeks he had tons of inquiries on his credit which caused his CS to drop drastically
2) they didn't give him as much as promised
3) for while they kept signing hom up to cards eventhough they said they were gonna stop.
4) they kept using a credit card he told them to keep open for himself and not close it and would take the points for themselves . He didn't even know this till he decided to open one of his bills mailed to him and he saw a balance and was surprised since he hadn't used it in a few months .
5) he expressed a concern to then from the beginning that he didn't want to lose the once in a lifetime and they said he wouldn't .....he signed up himself a while later and saw that he did .
7)  they told him they closed all cards he asked them to close and got hit with an annual fee on a card "they closed" and didn't even know about it for months

I'm gonna ask him to email Dan . It would be a great service to the public .

No matter what , whether it's a standard business model to jump up the pay out ; you said something , you keep to it . The customer shouldn't suffer . The service provider should make less on it and keep his word . Farms only care about themselves . They don't care about the customer . They don't care to pay out rightfully , to lie, to maintain the customer's good credit or to even be more gracious to the customer being that logic says that if someone is coming to them they are desperate for the money. It's a raw edge sleazy business. Period. There's no justifications for any of these guys to do anything not good for the customer .
I hate to use the mashal in this way but I Feel that the set up is the same as an eved ivri.  An eved ivri gives over himself to be owned . Everything he has is to his master . The master by halacha must treat and provide for his eved prior to providing for himself . ---- the same too in this business deal. A guy comes to you and hands himself & identity  identity according to law over to the farmer . The farmer as the master now must look to provide for the customer prior to himself .
