Response to naysayers:
Some of you are unbelievable. All the post does is encourage you to be careful with your personal information, to think hard about the type of schemes you are getting yourself into and to excersize caution and discretion with credit/financial decisions. So the only people whose parnassah is getting screwed by this are those that are relying on duping others to some extent.

Why do they do that ? It doesn't stay on the top that way. I had to go to the second page to find it.

Maybe @dan can tell them they can copy and paste his main site article on this subject for their own news purpose?

Dan has asked people with stories to come forward. Evidently, not enough have for him to do an article.

They's 2 sides to every story. I'm sure these companies are not purposely screwing anyone. They have a reputation to uphold if they want anyone else to sign up with them. This is their livelihood, they can't afford to lose it.

I'm assuming the ones who were screwed did something that triggered it. Whether they tried taking the points for themselves, or maybe they did not properly respond to a call from the credit card issuer, whatever the case may be.

Please go though the last page...
No one would have an issue IF

1. The charging was done legitimately (no shtick)
2. The income was not inflated
3. The money promised; was given
A and B do not seem to be legitimate grievances to call these people scamming the people signing up (besides for the fact that many people here do it on a smaller scale). They are scamming the CC company, not their "customers".

C is a legitimate grievance.

 I would also add:

D) The people they are signing up are not being informed of the potential risks involved in what can arguably be called fraud, and the potential liabilities.

In addition, there seem to have been some cases of mess ups when the charges weren't "paid"  and the cardholders were sent a bill for the balance.

I do think that some think this is a "scam" because the people they are signing up can do this themselves and make much more money. That seems to be what is being hotly contested that they never would've touched this in their lives and made a penny off this, like 99% of the population.

is that true? I still think people would have an issue
Why?

I got a short run down of a story with a fine ending (he scared the guy off). If @dan wants it for an article I can try to get a longer version. although this story ends well it has points of the illegal activity these people do to make your life miserable when trying to get out of what they screwed up (in this case falsified info so the true owner couldn't fux it on his own).
I'm not who you think I am.

Wow you're incredibly naive.
These companies must be a bastion of honesty, they don't lie, cheat or steal hundreds of times a day. And the countless reports are all coming from dishonest clients.

I'm not arguing to the fact whether they're lying to credit card companies, or distorting the facts.

I am solely talking about their relationship with their clients. They need them, and they need their references. The people who were screwed were probably either given misinformation regarding how it works or given false promises regarding how much money to expect.

If someone has bad credit, and they're unable to apply for the 5 Golds & 2 plats, then they won't get the full amount promised. In such a scenario, they feel like they've been cheated and being taken advantage of.

I've yet to hear a case where everything went smoothly, and the person didn't answer the wrong questions when the bank calls them, and the company still didn't give them what was promised.
