Response to naysayers:
Some of you are unbelievable. All the post does is encourage you to be careful with your personal information, to think hard about the type of schemes you are getting yourself into and to excersize caution and discretion with credit/financial decisions. So the only people whose parnassah is getting screwed by this are those that are relying on duping others to some extent.

No, no and no. Would you like to guess how many tens of thousands of WF tickets I booked at cost for members here?  :)
FD?

for someone that dose it honestly on a small scale for friends, any one of his friends that reads the post will be very misled never to do it again, i think post should have clearly stated that if it's someone you trust.. it's a different story.
what kind of nonsense are you spewing. If they decide to get into it themselves you will lose also, so shut down all these blogs and forums so you shouldn't lose.

If everything you do is 100% clean why not sit down and explain it all, why should they stay ignorant? You want them not to ask, that my friend is shady in itself.
And actually it doesn't affect me because I would be really nervous using someone else's SSN. (It can go both ways you know, if someone gives you their SSN then claims fraud and identity theft they will trace the IP address back to you and then what?)

I don't know what they do, but they must be idiots to not have you sign a form authorizing them.

all the storys of the post were just of people that didn't get paid in full/ on time. Whice dose not make it "unsafe to give away your ss", again all i was saying is that it's a little misleading on the expence of others.

You're right.
Everyone should give away their SSN nilly willy to random advertisers who aren't beyond lying to their customers about how they'll spend and then stiffing them when it comes time to get paid. I'm sure their SSN will be under lock and key at all times.

How dare people be even slightly educated as to what's going on in the field?!? Chutzpah!!!!!

One DDF member sent me information about farms using even more nefarious methods to multiply the points balances of their victims before cashing out and leaving victims with massive negative balances that can affect their ability to get credit cards in the future. One of the farmers even bragged to him about how much he abuses his victims accounts as if it’s all just one big game. If the account holder knew the level of fraud that was being committed in their name they would likely have never allowed it, but they’re simply not informed of what’s actually going on.

-DDF member Saulius writes that he knows a teacher in Lakewood, NJ who gave his social security number to a farm for a lump payment. He also knows the broker that bought $4,000 of miles from the farm that opened credit cards in the teacher’s name. The broker was told that no shady tactics were used to generate the miles. The broker booked award tickets and paid more than $1,000 in taxes from miles from the account but the tickets were voided and the mileage account was closed as it turned out the farm did use shady spending tactics to generate the miles. The farm has refused to reimburse the broker for his losses.
this is a bit more than not getting paid on time or in full.

can you name 1 person who gave his ssn to a farm and had issues in the long run, i know a lot of people didn't get what they were promised, why dose that make it unsafe, no one in these farms took a mortgage on someones ss, so where is it UNSAFE?

Do you know anyone who died in a car accident because they weren't wearing a seatbelt?  I don't.  I guess I should stop wearing a seat belt.

I also, thank Gd, don't know anyone who died after jumping off a bridge. Clearly not risky behavior at all.

This argument is incredibly dumb.
There's nothing more that needs to be than this:

Then there's a paper trail for the fraud, and there goes the deniability.

Funny how those against the DDMS post think anything they will say here will change anyone's opinion.
