I have a few more noobish comments.
1) It shouldn't be terribly hard to get the identity of who's running the ads. All you would need is some strongly written letters from some of the gedolim and the papers should provide it easily.
2) This can end badly for those who are still involved in the scam. If everything comes crashing down who says these guys don't just run off with millions of dollars in available credit from their "clients". I'm sure everyone here knows how easy it is to liquidate a credit card into cash.
3) These scams have also hit me close to home. My sister almost fell victim to one of these scams because her husband had a "friend" who did this stuff and promised all kinds of neat vacations. Luckily he got snagged by chase on his first application though she did have to work out a fraud inquiry.
4) One last thought is maybe Dan could host a Webinar or something like that to quickly and succinctly address these issues and the perils involved.
Like I said just some rambling noobish comments. I really hope this ends quickly and quietly and I for one would gladly give something toward ads or a concentrated effort to stop this schtick and help educate everyone against the risks these games have.
