Do most agree the number one concern would be the potential damage that can be done with giving someone your personal information? If so why not concentrate on that message?

The original KK spoke of impeding prosecution and a massive chillul hashem. This has everything to do with scale.
IMHO this is all that needs to be discussed here.

I am in agreement with you that regarding right/wrong, halacha and ethics, size does not matter it can all be discussed elsewhere.
