Hey, just reliezed this thread/post.

AZ does allow OW on its own metal. Also DL and AF show phantom availability for AZ big time. First I taught it's an incompetent AZ rep who can't find availability on thier own metal, it was showing available on DL and on AF but AZ claimed its only available for standard award (200k miles) so I called DL and tried to actually make a booking and they came back that they can't confirm it. Maybe they pull availability from AZ standard award.

SQ awards with partners the cancelation fee is about $70 IIRC.
Had a few times where I was told $30, but was called about a week later to be advised that its $70

@Dan, your policies on JAL are a bit outdated, here is the new award chart http://www.jal.co.jp/en/jalmile/use/partner_air/oneworld/miles_ar.html

Also they do allow stopovers when reddening for OW partners.

1. Who said they don't allow stopovers?

2. I'm not JAL expert, but what's with this chart vs the one you posted? http://www.jal.co.jp/en/jalmile/use/partner_air/p_jmb/jmb_mile_ar.html

Interesting.
Already cancelled SQ partner awards more than 3 times and never had to pay more than $30.

Dan, sorry for bothering again, but you have to fix the stopover rules as well.

Quote
For each award, a maximum of 8 flight sectors excluding surface sector will be permitted in the whole itinerary.
2 Japan domestic flight sectors can be included in the whole itinerary.
For each award, a maximum of 7 stopovers (a stay more than 24 hours or surface sector) are permitted in the whole itinerary.
Stopovers within Europe are limited to 3 times.

For itineraries originating in Japan, stopover within Japan is not permitted.
"One city" can be included twice at the maximum for the whole itinerary, however stopover at "one city" is permitted once in the whole itinerary.
One surface sector is permitted in the whole itinerary.
A surface sector is counted to be "one stopover" regardless of the sojourn time.
The distance of the surface sector is included in the total distance of award itinerary.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

Again, I used the cheaper partner chart which is 2 stopovers and fewer miles.

I don't see where it says over there that they allow 2 stopovers. Either way, most bloggers use the other award chart.

The partner chart allows just one airline, but that's not an issue for most people on AB/BA/IB/US, etc.
May as well go with the cheaper chart than the OW chart.

It can be pretty useful 7 stopovers on a one way to Israel! You can check out the entire Europe, its almost like a round the world idea. Something like @Yehuda did.
