$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

I am not familiar with the route and not sure what down under means that is why I asked again to where meaning the airport code or city?

thanks

A trip down under on EY F a380

To correct myself, that specific flight would be JFK-AUH-SYD or JFK-AUH-MEL starting June 1st.

Are these options better than HKG?

Can do HKG on the return in theory. It is different and for many EY F A380 is the best hard product in the air.

Well JFK-AUH-MEL/SYD gets you a lot more time on an A380 than flying though HKG, though as Benjie said, you can fly CX on the return.

If I book a Saaver award for next month, can I then confirm myself for a same day flight even though there is no saaver availability for today?
In other words, when I change the flight for within 24 hours, does there need to be availability in the same fare bucket? or is availability in the class of service good enough?
Also, if it does work, would they charge me $75 once? or 2x$75?

Thanks!!

Although Im not sure I completely understand your question I will attempt an answer.

If you book or change an AA award to a flight within 21 days you have to pay the $75 fee. You can then. Change it as many times as you want without paying an additional fee.

You can only change a saver flight into a saver flight without incurring an additional miles charge. If you change into a lower class, say F to J you can do that for free but to get back the difference in miles you'll have to pay the redeposit fee. Or eat the difference.

Rereading my question, it didn't make sense. But your answer helped me anyway.
Thanks!

Is this true? I've been on BA002, I'd love to have a similar experience.

What's so surprising about not having a premium economy cabin?

I have 220k AA miles that I am trying to burn this summer by going away with my wife. I am really trying not to pay any fuel surcharges while getting to any European destination. Please share any tips on not pay fuel surcharges as every search I do there is only availability on BA and they have crazy charges. Is there anything to do or do I just need to stick with going somewhere in the western hemisphere?

You can't get out of BA YQ. If you want to stay in the western hemisphere go to IGU.

And there is no other way to search in order to get more results than just BA?

They release less, that's why. Ba.com will have the best OW results while Aa.com will show AA flights better.
