$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Co-terminals. I landed in HND last night and my flight is out of NRT this afternoon. Same AA award.

Beautiful, thank you!

For connections via TYO, HND and NRT are considered co-terminals on award tickets, or it would be two tickets?
Depends for what purpose you're asking.

If you're talking about a connection point, yes, they are. If you're talking about change fee for O/D purposes, no, they aren't.

Funny how we were just talking about this: http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2016/01/31/official-changes-can-make-american-aadvantage-award-march-22-lock-current-pricing-future-trips/

Short answer: it depends.

What's a "reduced mileage award" and a "reduced mileage discount"?

Not when there is a stopover.

But with Avios going up, it is the same price (minus the last minute ticketing, and $5 cancellation fees)

I'm trying to get an AA hold on a bclass Etihad flight from AUH to JFK. I've attached a screen shot of the availability. Oddly, for the A380 flight the number of available seats aren't listed but I called Etihad and confirmed that over 7 Guest Bclass seats are currently available. However, when I called up AA to hold the flight they weren't seeing ANY bclass award availability. They claimed that Etihad wasn't releasing the seats, and when I called Etihad couldn't give me a good reason as to why AA wouldn't be able to see the availability.

Yesterday I put a similar flight on hold with almost the exact same circumstances; seat availability wasn't listed, and same flight. Had no issues doing that.

Any ideas what could be going on?

I think the answer is right away, but how quickly do the miles appear back in the account following a redeposit?

Currently have PHL-DOH-MLE-DOH-PHL booked all on QR Y. IF space on EY F (A380) opens and I want to switch (would probably only switch the return), I know the routing would have to be MLE-AUH-JFK/LGA-PHL in order to keep O/D and not incur extra charges. But I have 2 questions:

1) Can I just stop my trip in JFK and skip the last leg without any (even potential) negative consequences?
2) If I do take the LGA-PHL leg, can I bring an infant ONLY on that flight? In laws live in NY and are watching my daughter, so wondering if they'd be able to bring her to LGA and we fly back with her.

1) Practically speaking, no negative consequences. You are however breaking their CoC and do have *potential* negative consequences.
2) Yes.

2) Yes.
1) So most likely nothing happens, but what's the worst case scenario?
2) If I do this, do I say nothing when booking the new route and just tell them when I get to LGA? In terms of boarding passes, will I get the LGA-PHL boarding pass in MLE or will have to check in separately once I get to LGA?

1) Closure of your AA account.
2) Right. Doesn't matter you can check in separately in LGA.

Actually, just realized that QR changed the flight schedule like 10 times since I booked (changes were by a couple of minutes). Does that mean I can make changes and even change O/D with no charges? If yes, would those changes have to had been made relatively soon after QR made changes, or I have carte blanche?
