$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

How difficult is it to add a leg?  Currently I have JFK-DOH in QR J, if I want to add BWI-JFK is it possible to do last minute on the same PNR?  Or do they need to redeposit and fully rebook?  I'm fine with paying the post-deval cost.

Not difficult at all, but leave some time for ticketing.

I'm trying to book AMM-AUH-SYD on EY

First leg is only available in Y, second leg J, they're telling me I have to book at 17,500 + 45,000 - this is wrong, no? I've been getting the same answer and even the supervisor is saying it has to be booked at that price...

So

Thanks - so frustrating - hate the australian call center-never get good reps and always a terrible connection. Can I have them hold it and then reprice with an American agent? Or they probably won't be able to see the J availability so won't work?

You can have an Aussie rep put the J leg on hold, then call the USA call center to add the Y leg and reprice it in USD.

Try the HKG number. They can see what AUS can see.

Anyone know if an unaccompanied minor traveling on an AA flight (booked as a BA award) can checkin online beforehand and print out their boarding pass as usual?

UK call center female agents have taken to asking me where I'm calling from. As long as it looks cloudy and rainy outside my office window, I say Manchester.

lol. I've been asked and said the US. When asked why I said because the US call center can't book EY and has long holds due to local weather. They don't care.

If you ordered a chaperone you may have to get the boarding pass at the airport.

I had a snippety agent who initially refused to ticket it for me when I said the U.S., notwithstanding the aforementioned reasons. After persistence, she ended up putting perfectly acceptable EY F flights on hold for me.

Anyway to avoid the 21 day close in booking fee? (Does having the citi aa card help with that?)

if I book 21 days out and then change to a within 21 day time period will this do the trick to avoid the close in fee?
