$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

They have a rolling calendar and it seems like they severely limited availability going forward. You may find some business class seats a few days out and coach on select days up to 6 weeks out but thats it.

If youre looking to use Avios call BA but i doubt that they will show anything. AA resevations agent saw nothing different than what the AA website showed.  I just think the availability has changed period.

Thank you so much for your response.

I'm new to this but have saved up a bunch of avios and was really hoping to be able to get to Israel in the summer.

Is there any other airline / currency that avios can be transferred to or way to do it (without the crazy fuel surcharges that cost nearly as much as the ticket)?

Thanks again

Any schedule changes on the original flight that you booked?

Not sure what you mean.  I had JFK-BKK (JAL) tried to change BOS-BKK via CX but need to leave from JFK -BOS to avoid change fee.

If you're original flight of JFK-BKK had any schedule changes since you booked it, you should be able to get them to change your itinerary to LGA-BOS-BKK for free.

Probably because using the 50k account will allow you to get the most use of your miles all together...

77k and 62k are solid numbers, 50k isn't.

Better than being stuck with a 22k or 37k account and nothing to redeem with it was
